Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduate.
• 2–4 years of safety or woodworking operations experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• OSHA and DOT regulations knowledge; OSHA 10 certification.
• First Aid/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspects facility operations to ensure safe job practices, PPE use, and guards are in place and operational.
• Investigates accidents and near-miss events, identifies trends and causes, and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
• Works with management to develop safety programs and incentives as appropriate.
• Conducts new hire training and ensures new employees understand safety practices and policies.
• Provides training on safe operation of machinery and equipment.
• Chairs the Safety Committee.
• Manages inventory of safety-related products including PPE and first-aid supplies.
• Ensures proper level of safety/medical supplies in inventory.
• Conducts and certifies forklift training.
• Coordinates annual fire inspection tours and other regulatory visits.
• Monitors hearing conservation program.
• Coordinates work duties for employees on medical restrictions.
• Maintains communication with management, HR, and third-party claims administrators.
• Maintains OSHA 300 log and other required reports.
• Prepares regular and special reports.
• Performs other duties as required.
