Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Safety Program Assistant to support the Safety Manager in enforcing safety procedures on design/build HVAC, plumbing and fire protection projects. You will help ensure OSHA compliance, coordinate training, and maintain safety documentation onsite.

The role emphasizes fostering teamwork, coaching less-experienced safety staff, and building strong relationships with field crews to enhance on-site safety culture.

Qualifications

• Able to train, coach, and mentor less experienced safety personnel.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tasks on project sites are performed safely per company policies and OSHA standards.
• Help implement the Corporate Safety Award Program.
• Distribute certification cards for industrial equipment training and maintain records.
• Report and manage company vehicle claims.
• Assist in reporting workers' compensation claims.
• Update MSDS manual.
• Assemble safety manuals for distribution.
• Assist in distributing safety tailgate meetings and maintain signed forms.
