Job summary

Block by Block is seeking a Safety Ambassador in Florida to patrol assigned zones on foot or bike, assist pedestrians, and report any unsafe activity. The role requires a FL Class D Security License and the ability to work outdoors in all conditions.

The position offers weekly pay, PTO, and uniforms, with opportunities ideal for retirees and first-time job seekers. The shift is 3rd, Thursday to Monday, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.

Qualifications

• Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse (including riding a bike) during an eight-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/or bike.
• Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors.
• Report to local authorities any unsafe activity with accurate descriptions.
• Request compliance for low-level quality-of-life issues.
• Greet and engage pedestrians to provide directions and city information.
• Visit zone businesses to share information and collect contact details.
• Complete basic daily reports in English.

• Thu. - Mon. from 3:30pm to 12:00am
• OFF Days = Tues. & Wed.

What You'll Be Doing :

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/ or bike as a deterrent and be on the lookout for unwanted behavior and activity.
• Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to local authorities via established communication methods. Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers.
• Firmly and courteously request compliance to persons violating low-level quality-of-life crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and city information.
• Responsible for making a specified number of visits to zone businesses to share information and gather contact information.
• Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed which requires being proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language.
