Job summary

Block by Block is seeking a Safety Ambassador in Texas to patrol assigned zones on foot or by bike, deter unwanted behavior, and assist pedestrians with directions and information. The role requires a friendly, professional demeanor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.

The position emphasizes reporting, awareness of safety concerns, and basic English communication for daily task documentation. Competitive weekly pay and advance options are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience not required but preferred; training provided.
• Must be able to communicate in English to create basic reports.
• Valid TX Driver's License required and clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/or bike as a deterrent and monitor for unwanted behavior.
• Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors with a professional demeanor.
• Observe for criminal activity and report to local authorities with accurate descriptions.
• Firmly request compliance from those violating low-level quality-of-life laws.
• Engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting to provide directions and city information.
• Make specified visits to zone businesses to share information and collect contact details.
• Complete basic daily reports of tasks in English.

Pay Range: $24.00to $24.00 per hour (Weekly Pay & Pay Advance Before Payday!)

Shift/Schedule:

• Mon. - Sun. availability REQUIRED w/ 2 days off
• 3:00pm to 3:00am

Valid TX Driver's License w/ clean MVR REQUIRED

Asset Protection/Security background REQUIRED

CPR Certification PREFERRED

What You'll Be Doing :

• Patrol the assigned zone on foot and/ or bike as a deterrent and be on the lookout for unwanted behavior and activity.
• Provide information, assistance, and directions to pedestrians and visitors. Must maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times.
• Be watchful for unwanted behaviors or criminal activity and report to local authorities via established communication methods. Must be able to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers.
• Firmly and courteously request compliance from persons violating low-level quality of life crimes, such as panhandling, loitering, disruptive behavior, etc.
• Actively acknowledge and engage pedestrians with a friendly greeting/smile in order to provide directions and city information.
• Responsible for making a specified number of visits to zone businesses to share information and gather contact information.
• Must be able to complete basic daily reports of tasks completed, which requires being proficient in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.

Requirements

Requirements:

• Experience required . We will train.
• Valid TX Driver's License required.
• Must have a H.S. Diploma or GED
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have the physical capacity to walk or traverse (including riding a bike) continuously during an eight-hour shift, with two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch break.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions (free uniforms provided)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.
