Job summary

Fivetran, Inc. is seeking a Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Senior Manager to lead complex accounting matters and scalable processes for a fast‑growing SaaS company in Oakland.

The role emphasizes collaboration across Accounting Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and HR, with a strong internal control and external reporting focus. You will build policies, coordinate with valuation specialists for 409A and equity valuations, and ensure SOX‑compliant controls to support growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA license required.
• 7+ years of combined experience in Big 4 public accounting and/or corporate accounting at a SaaS or high-growth technology company.
• Demonstrated technical accounting expertise and experience drafting memos on complex, non-routine transactions.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal control frameworks (SOX).
• Experience with external reporting, audit, or regulatory complexity.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (Netsuite and Workiva preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills across departments.
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and document technical accounting issues and memos; prepare calculations for audits under US GAAP (ASC 718, ASC 350-40, ASC 340, ASC 805, ASC 842, ASC 480).
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures; lead implementation of significant changes.
• Collaborate with external valuation specialists for complex valuations including 409A, intangible assets, and equity awards.
• Coordinate with Accounting Operations, Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR, and others to operationalize guidance.
• Support external reporting readiness, including disclosures and process improvements.
• Design and implement SOX-compliant accounting processes and internal controls for growth.
• Partner with external auditors and consultants to ensure timely conclusions.
• Provide training and mentorship on technical accounting topics.
