Job summary

Vital IT Services in Allen, TX is seeking an Application / Software Support Technician to join our growing IT team. You will provide software application support for internal and external users, analyze problems, and train users on business software.

You will investigate deep-level application and database failures across SaaS platforms, write SQL queries, configure systems, and perform functional testing before live releases.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Application Support or L2/L3 IT Support within data-heavy environments.
• Proficient with relational databases and SQL queries.
• Experience with Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, DB2, or legacy DB2 environments.
• Strong analytical troubleshooting and QA/testing awareness.
• Degree in Mathematics, Economics, CS, or related quantitative field preferred.
• Proficient in SQL, MS Excel, Power BI.
• Experience with multiple data sources (MS SQL, Excel, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, AS400, DB2).

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve deep-level application errors and data discrepancies.
• Write and execute SQL queries to trace transaction errors and pull data across databases.
• Configure and provision complex software systems and user access rules.
• Conduct regression testing for hotfixes and configurations before live releases.
• Document bug-resolution patterns and configurations in Confluence knowledge base.
