Job summary

UMass Chan Medical School is seeking a Senior Research Program Manager to oversee the application, implementation, progress, and evaluation of complex multi-year, multi-site research projects. You will coordinate staff and resources across campuses to ensure timely, high-quality project work in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.

The role requires strong leadership, grant management experience, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to an academic audience.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in developing, implementing and evaluating research programs.
• Experience in project management, supervision of staff and fiscal responsibility.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Develop research project plans and programs with senior principal investigators.
• Convene and direct project teams including data staff, research associates and coordinators, per diem staff, and faculty for study work.
• Prepare project budgets and manage grant/contract expenditures with the department administrator.
• Identify resources across campuses and monitor progress, including data analysis and reports.
• Hire, supervise and evaluate project staff and provide functional supervision as needed.
• Draft scientific papers describing results in conjunction with the Principal Investigator.
• Coordinate communications between on-site and sub-award investigators and senior management.
• Manage day-to-day logistics and summarize findings for presentations.
