Job summary

StarPoint Properties is seeking an Roving Operating Engineer in Los Angeles to oversee maintenance and inspections across commercial assets. You will manage the PM program, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and coordinate with property managers and vendors. A strong background in facilities and engineering is required.

The role involves travel to multiple properties, interaction with tenants, and ensuring energy-efficient building operations in line with company standards.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED is required.
• 5+ years of facilities and engineering background in commercial real estate.
• Familiarity with City of Los Angeles Building & Safety Codes and SCAQMD Rules.
• EPA certification is required.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical operating standards for the building, including heating/cooling and EMS settings.
• Respond to service requests from tenants and staff.
• Maintain PM Program and equipment inventory.
• Obtain bids for maintenance, repairs and capital projects; review with Property Manager.
• Maintain operating logs and conduct annual property inspections to ensure compliance.
• Travel to different assets (local and domestic).
