Job summary

zTrip Indy is seeking a Routing Dispatcher to coordinate transportation schedules, assign routes to drivers, monitor routes, and support drivers to ensure safe, on-time passenger service in a fast-paced environment.

You will communicate trip details, adjust plans as needed, maintain dispatch records, generate reports, and contribute to routing efficiency and service reliability while upholding company safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in dispatching or logistics preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and routing software.

What You'll Do as a Routing Dispatcher

Route Planning & Dispatch Operations

• Assign and dispatch transportation trips to drivers based on schedules, locations, and service needs
• Monitor routes and daily transportation activity to maintain efficient service operations
• Make real-time adjustments to routes and schedules as operational needs change
• Communicate trip assignments, updates, and important service information to drivers
• Help ensure on-time performance and efficient route management
• Maximize fleet utilization while maintaining service quality standards

Driver Support & Communication

• Serve as the primary communication link between drivers and operations management
• Provide drivers with route information, schedule updates, and operational guidance
• Respond promptly to driver questions and support requests
• Assist in resolving routing, scheduling, and service-related challenges
• Coordinate with team members to address service disruptions and maintain operational efficiency

Customer Service & Operational Support

• Respond professionally to customer inquiries regarding transportation services
• Assist with service requests, schedule changes, and transportation-related concerns
• Maintain accurate dispatch records, trip information, and operational documentation
• Monitor daily service performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support company goals by helping deliver a positive customer experience

Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities

• Complete data entry and maintain accurate transportation records
• Generate and review operational reports as needed
• Track route performance, service metrics, and driver activity
• Assist management with scheduling, reporting, and operational planning
• Contribute ideas that improve routing efficiency and service reliability

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, routing, scheduling, customer service, or a related field preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Experience with routing software, GPS systems, transportation management systems, or fleet operations is a plus
