Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Route Trainee to begin a rewarding career in service and customer care. You’ll receive hands-on training through our blended learning programs while supporting daily operations and preparing to transition into a full-time Route Service Representative role.

You’ll assist with deliveries, service, and route coverage while learning multiple customer accounts, with a focus on safety, reliability, and strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• DOT physical exam compliance required.
• High school diploma, GED, or military service.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently.
• Prior experience in customer service, route sales, or delivery is a plus.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program to prepare for an RSR role.
• Support daily operations by loading/unloading route trucks and starting each day accurately.
• Deliver clean garments and products to customers and return soiled items.
• Provide route coverage during RSR absences on established routes.
• Operate a company walk-in truck along designated routes with safety in mind.
• Engage in a physically active role across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Contribute to service department success and customer relationships.
• Maintain a predictable Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.
