Job summary

Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is seeking a Support Route Driver to fill in on open or unassigned routes, supporting daily delivery operations. The role requires flexibility to cover varying routes and schedules while upholding safety and service standards.

Hours include Mon-Fri, 7:30AM until route completion, with 10-15 hours of overtime expected weekly and potential weekend OT. Starting pay ranges from $21.00 to $26.25 per hour, depending on experience and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Cover open, vacant or temporarily unassigned routes as needed.
• Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers promptly.
• Inspect and report any mechanical issues with the vehicle.
• Load the truck efficiently to maximize space and prevent damage.
• Collect payments for certain packages delivered.
• Verify the contents of pickups on shipping papers.
• Notify management of problems or discrepancies.
• Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness.
• Travel may be required to fulfill route coverage.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
