Job summary

Waste Pro USA Inc. is seeking a Route Supervisor in Kenner, LA to oversee daily residential/commercial route operations, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-efficient service delivery in line with company standards.

The role emphasizes supervising drivers, enforcing safety practices, route optimization, and effective communication with customers and the sales team. A CDL is required or obtainable within 3 months; flexible scheduling and a strong emphasis on leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3–5 years in transportation, management, logistics or waste industry.
• Associate's degree or 2 years in transportation, logistics or solid waste operations with supervisory responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Smith System and/or Decision Driving principles.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft applications.
• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, ANSI and related regulations.
• Valid Class A or B CDL (or ability to obtain within 3 months) with acceptable driving record.
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills; proven customer service capability.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions and resolve problems.
• Flexible schedules including weekends; available by phone as needed.
• Positive attitude toward staff and customers.
• Knowledge of first aid is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise drivers and daily operations; greet drivers and ensure pre/post trip inspections.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and enforce company policies.
• Share decision-driving techniques and enforce safety guidelines; lead safety meetings.
• Route planning for new service starts; optimize routes to minimize labor costs.
• Address customer issues, respond to dispatch, and coordinate with sales for changes.
• Conduct route observations; ensure safety, route cleanliness and truck appearance.
• Monitor DOT hours of service and regulatory compliance; manage incident reporting.
• Train and orient new employees; perform performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Handle accidents and injuries; respond to investigations.
• Drive on routes as needed to cover shortages and support operations.
• Attend training courses and stay updated with Waste Pro systems.
