Job summary

Athens Hauling-Nelsonville is seeking a Route Supervisor to manage daily driver activities, train staff, and ensure safety and quality standards. The role emphasizes strong leadership, DOT/OSHA knowledge, and the ability to handle route logistics in a dynamic environment.

Qualified candidates will have CDL considerations and prior supervisory experience in waste/logistics, with flexibility for night and weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft applications.
• Knowledge of the local area and map reading abilities.
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems.
• Knowledge of DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Experience driving a manual transmission truck is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers.
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve performance.
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure all compliance goals are met.
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns).
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow up on daily route assignments.
• Investigate accidents, injuries, and property damage claims.
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office employees or drivers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
