Job summary

Interstate Batteries seeks a Route Service Manager to deliver batteries and provide exceptional service to a predetermined route of customers and dealers. You will collaborate with dealers to optimize battery mix, execute quality programs, and build strong dealer relationships for retention.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, maintaining inventory accuracy, rotating stock, handling invoicing, and ensuring timely paperwork. Some overnight routes may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school graduate sufficient; basic math literacy required.
• Excellent communication skills are required for customer interactions.
• Minimum one year of delivery and customer service experience is required.
• Working knowledge of computers or ability to learn company systems.
• Familiarity with electronic inventory management tools (tablets, scanners) is required.
• Demonstrates good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to work overtime if requested.
• Some routes may require one or more overnight trips per week.

Responsibilities

• Deliver batteries and service dealers on route.
• Load/unload trucks and track assets.
• Build and maintain dealer relationships.
• Keep displays clean and rotated per agreements.
• Manage dealer accounts: sales, consignment, warranties, cash, invoicing.
• Complete route paperwork promptly.
• Collect and return used batteries to warehouse.
• Interact professionally with stakeholders.
