Job summary

The ICEE Company is seeking a Route Sales Driver in Independence, MO. You will represent ICEE professionally, build strong relationships with store personnel, and focus on in-store merchandising and POS while delivering products and managing account inventories.

You will rotate stock, complete invoices, and maintain equipment cleanliness, with a company-provided vehicle, uniforms, cellphone, tablet, and gas card. DOT compliance and regular meetings are part of the role.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 21 years old due to DOT regulations.
  • Experience in customer service and/or route driving preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Load/unload the company vehicle and prepare inventory for daily route.
  • Complete scheduled deliveries and ensure prompt delivery of products and promotional items.
  • Discuss new products and promotions with store personnel.
  • Ensure ICEE equipment training for store staff when needed.
  • Clean machines and replenish stock of cups, lids, and straws; refresh promotional materials.
  • Record store PO numbers on invoices as needed.
  • Perform weekly vehicle checks and complete DVIR for DOT compliance.
  • Carry out general warehouse duties including shipping/receiving and organization.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the operations leadership, the Route Sales Driver ensures that The ICEE
Company is always represented in a professional and courteous manner. Customer service is always
capitalized at ICEE, and we have a commitment to success to not only our Customers but also our
partners and our peers. Route Sales Drivers must develop strong relationships with store personnel,
and they must be motivated toward in-store merchandising and POS (point of sale). Daily, they are
expected to deliver products, complete, and rotate account inventory, complete invoices, clean
machines, and replaces promotional materials. Route Sales Drivers will work with minimal supervision
and are required to attend weekly meetings held in their Service Center. Individuals in this role are
provided with a vehicle to complete their route, uniforms, cell phone, tablet, and gas card.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for loading/unloading the company vehicle to ensure inventory for delivery prepared for daily route. Completes inventory count at the beginning and the end of shift each day.
  • Completes scheduled deliveries assigned and ensure prompt delivery of products and promotional items.
  • Discusses with store personnel any new product to be left and inform them of new promotional items.
  • Ensures that the proper training of ICEE equipment is discussed with any store personnel that are not familiar with machine operation.
  • Cleans machines, replenishes stock of cups/lids/straws, and freshens promotional materials.
  • Documents store provided PO # on invoices at necessary accounts.
  • On occasion, there will be COD (cash on demand) accounts delivered. The driver will deliver the product to these accounts and in return he/she will receive the payment for this product. If cash payment is made, the driver is responsible for obtaining a money order for the proper amount minus the cost of money order. This money order is turned into the Service Center manager at the end of every day.
  • Performs weekly vehicle checks. DOT vehicles, driver must fill out a DVIR (daily vehicle inspection report).
  • Performs assigned general warehouse duties including but not limited to cleaning, organizing, rotating product, shipping and receiving of equipment, parts, and product.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Competencies
  • Must possess enthusiasm and motivation toward in-store merchandising and POS.
  • Must be able to successfully maintain customer relations, interpersonal relationships, team relations, and service.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
  • Great oral and written communication skills. Must be comfortable performing basic mathematical functions as well.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to DOT requirements.
  • Preferred two (2) years Customer Service and/or Route Driving experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to lift 55 lbs. or more on a regular basis. Occasional lifting in excess of 70 lbs. required.
  • Ability to Drive more than 40% of the time.
  • Must have and wear steel-toed shoes.

US Hourly Pay Range

$22 - $22 USD
