Job summary

J&J Snack Foods Corp. seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead the Human Resources Department, aligning people strategy with business goals at our Rock Island facility.

You’ll oversee hiring, payroll, compliance, and employee relations, coaching the HR team, and partnering with leadership to drive performance and growth while ensuring policy adherence and legal compliance. Strong communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced consumer goods environment are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with at least five years of HR management experience.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; UltiPro experience preferred.

Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Partnerswith the Plant Senior Leadership Team to help solve complex organizational challenges, while ensuring we have the right people in the right function, helping us drive results and grow our business.
  • ManagesHuman Resources Department: Oversee administration of hiring, retention, terminations, employee records, legal compliance, compensation, and payroll within the organization.
  • Actsas a direct liaison for J&J Snack Foods Corp. for the development of employee welfare, performance goals, employee development, and auditing.
  • Supervises theHRTeamdirect recruiting and talent management for salaried and hourly positions. Coordinate and conduct employee orientation and onboarding processes.
  • Maintainscomplianceofall laws, policies, and procedures at the federal and state level including the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family Medical Leave Act, HIPAA, DOL, EEOC, and ADA.
  • InvestigatesEEOC and employee claims of harassment, unfair treatment, and retaliation.
  • Partnerswith management team to provide strategic insight and guidance critical for on-going positive employee relations.
  • Managesdisciplinaryprocesses of all employees.
  • Coordinateswith Corporate Human Resources and Legal Counsel for major offenses and terminations.
  • Overseesattendance policy for all applicable employees.
  • Coachesand trainssupervisors on interpreting and enforcing policy and procedures
  • Develops, implements, and communicatespolicies and programs in collaboration with corporate and local management for the structure and organization of all Human Resource functions.
  • Developsandmaintainsall company job descriptions complete with ADA analysis.
  • Maintainsemployee performance reviews, action plans, merit increases and succession planningprogram. Grow and promote positive employee relations.
  • Conductsemployee/incident investigations as needed.
  • Oversees bi-weekly payroll for all salaried and hourly employees.
  • Overseestemporary staffing agencies andensureproper insurance requirements are met.
  • Developsandmaintainall company job descriptions complete with ADA analysis.
  • Providescase management for State disability, Unemployment, FMLA and FLI claims.
  • Primary contact for compliance audits. Maintain retention and accuracy of all confidential personnel records, legal health records, and protected health information for all employees.
  • Other projects set forth by Corporate Human Resources and the Plant Manager.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • ABachelor’s Degree in Human Resourcesor related field and at least five years of prior experience in Human Resources Management for consumer product manufacturer.
  • Professional certification such as the SPHR or PHR preferred
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. UltiPro experience preferred.

US Salary Pay Range

$85,000 - $90,000 USD
