Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling, a family-owned leader in waste and recycling services, seeks a Route Supervisor to manage daily activities of CDL route drivers in the Medora, Indiana area. You will coach staff, enforce safety standards, run routes as needed, and ensure timely, accurate performance metrics.

Ideal candidates have a valid Class B CDL, strong leadership, and the ability to read maps and use Windows/Microsoft tools.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class B CDL
• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain prior to hire
• Must be at least 19 years of age
• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 2 years
• No DUI or OVI within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years
• Must be able to travel between offices as required
• Must read and speak English fluently

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily activities and performance of route drivers
• Train, coach, and direct employees to improve their performance
• Monitor and enforce quality and safety standards and ensure compliance goals are met or exceeded
• Run routes as necessary (absences, vacations, vehicle breakdowns)
• Monitor and track employee attendance and required performance documentation
• Perform and monitor driver observations and vehicle inspections
• Plan, distribute, monitor, and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure service standards
• Conduct investigations for accidents, injuries, and property damage claims
• Fill in during the absence of other supervisors/office staff or drivers
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
