Job summary

Evonik Corporation in Mobile, Alabama is launching a three-year ETAD program to develop entry-level engineers for process engineering, capital projects, plant operations, and technical improvement initiatives across Evonik’s manufacturing network.

Participants gain two years of broad development and one year of focused experience, with exposure to various engineering disciplines and hands-on project work within NextGen Technologies.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical Engineering by Aug 2027.
• Willing to relocate for project support and career opportunities.
• Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, process design, regulatory issues, and cost/schedule/operations management.
• Strong verbal and written communication, decision making, and leadership.
• Ability to work in a project team with high adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and methodological assistance to production and operations to increase plant availability and reduce costs.
• Lead concepts for capacity expansions, quality improvements, and improved operations with process design and environmental protection oversight.
• Support capital projects through conceptual, basic, detailed engineering and startup phases.
• Generate and approve designs, specifications, drawings for capital projects and engineering service requests.
• Deliver training content and support further training offerings.
• Collaborate with universities, research institutes, and equipment manufacturers to develop improved technologies.
• Promote best practices across Evonik by exchanging information between plants and business lines.
• Collaborate globally with other departments within NextGen Technologies.
• Help prepare process engineering proposals with budgets and schedules.
• Participate in assigned roles within capital investment projects (e.g., Process Engineer).
• Mentor and develop other engineers and designers.
