Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is hiring multiple vacancies for a Remote Cook’s Helper at a remote North Slope camp. You will assist cooks, prep and serve meals, stock areas, and keep the kitchen and dining spaces clean.

The role follows a 3-week on/3-week off rotation with 12-hour shifts, based out of Anchorage with duties at the remote camp. Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, two years kitchen experience or related training, and Alaska Food Workers Card/ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Two years of work experience in a commercial kitchen or demonstrated vocational training in food prep and cleaning processes.
• Must have or obtain Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification on hire.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements including drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessments, and hearing test.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and other kitchen staff and coordinate activities in the food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, and related items.
• Maintain storage and service areas, stock supplies, and clean dishes and equipment.
• Wash and sanitize surfaces, floors, and dining/kitchen areas; participate in large cleaning projects as needed.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of serving lines, tables, and snack bars.
• Follow safety guidelines and report any safety or sanitation issues to supervision.
