Job summary

UNAVAILABLE is seeking a Remote Kitchen Helper to maintain sanitation, assist in food prep, stocking, and dining room duties in a remote camp setting on a 3-week on/3-week off schedule from Anchorage, AK. The role requires strong teamwork, stamina, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities include assisting cooks, preparing meals, stocking areas, and performing routine cleaning of dining and kitchen spaces.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of work experience in a commercial kitchen or related training.
• Alaska Food Workers Card and/or ServSafe Certification upon hire.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements including drug test, physical and fit-for-duty assessments.
• Ability to cooperate in a team and work with minimal supervision.
• Must be on your feet for 12 hours per shift during rotation.
• Live in dormitory-style housing and meet cleanliness requirements.
• English proficiency required (read, write, speak).
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist cooks and coordinate activities within the food service area.
• Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats, etc.
• Stock various food service areas with products and materials.
• Clean dishes, utensils, pots and pans, and store properly.
• Wash objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.
• Clean, sweep, and wipe dining, kitchen, or storage areas.
• Assist with large, periodic cleaning projects.
• Remove garbage from assigned areas.
• Set up and break down tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
• Notify supervisor if safety/sanitation standards are not met.
• Other duties as assigned.
