Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Data Center Technician for a rotating night shift, performing preventative maintenance and critical repairs in a data center environment. You will handle inspections, meters, and BMS alarms, maintaining safe environmental conditions and coordinating with vendors.

The role emphasizes adherence to processes, regulatory standards, and quality controls, with on-site work and opportunities to grow within the Critical and Technical Services function.

Qualifications

• Training in a technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience.
• Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays
• Meet the physical requirements of this role.
• Effective communication to present information to internal teams and clients.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
• Basic math skills for calculating percentages, discounts, and markups.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of mechanical and engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and regulations.
• Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for HVAC-related issues and respond to client problems.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Document maintenance records and follow safety and quality standards.
