Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Technician for a rotating 12-hour day shift (3 days one week, 4 days the next). You will perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs in a data center environment, ensuring safe conditions and reliable operations.

You will inspect mechanical and electrical systems, respond to BMS alarms, coordinate with vendors, and maintain detailed maintenance records as part of critical facilities services.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent in a technical discipline with 1-2 years of related experience.
• Able to work shifts including weekends and holidays
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the role
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong safety and quality focus

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and regulations.
• Alert management if subcontractor performance doesn’t meet requirements.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarm conditions and respond to HVAC issues.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDU, and utilities.
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and complete required training.
