Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Houston is seeking a Data Center Technician for nightshift on-site support. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance in a data center environment, monitor HVAC and BMS alarms, and coordinate with vendors to ensure safety and compliance.

You will inspect mechanical and electrical systems, take meter readings, and document maintenance activities. The role requires 3–5 years of experience, weekend/holiday availability, and strong problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist daily site inspections of Mechanical & Engineering systems and equipment.
• Ensure environmental conditions provide a safe work environment.
• React to Building Management System alarms and perform emergency repairs.
• Coordinate with third‑party vendors and ensure compliance with processes and laws.
• Notify management if subcontractor performance fails to meet requirements.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for running/alarm conditions and respond to HVAC issues.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and defects.
• Follow established procedures and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
• Complete required training and follow safety requirements.
