Job summary

The Human Resources Manager at Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage, CA, is responsible for supporting daily HR operations and delivering an exceptional associate experience in line with Marriott and Westin standards.

You will lead recruitment, onboarding, benefits, training, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement, report to the Director of HR, and partner with resort leadership across departments to drive engagement and maintain strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must speak Spanish fluently.
• Minimum one year HR management or supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
• Hospitality industry experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of California employment laws and payroll regulations.
• Experience with HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking, and timekeeping systems.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with leaders and associates.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment, onboarding, benefits, training, employee relations, recognition programs, and compliance initiatives.
• Assist department leaders with performance management, coaching, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Coordinate recruitment efforts including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, conducting reference checks, and supporting hiring managers throughout the selection process.
• Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding programs to ensure a positive associate experience.
• Maintain employee records and HRIS data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support benefits administration, leave management, workers' compensation, and accommodation processes.
• Ensure compliance with Marriott standards, California labor laws, and applicable federal employment regulations.
• Assist with payroll-related inquiries, timekeeping audits, and associate status changes.
• Coordinate and track required training programs, certifications, and compliance education.
• Partner with resort leadership to drive associate engagement, recognition, retention, and culture initiatives.
• Conduct workplace investigations and document findings in a thorough, objective, and professional manner.
• Prepare reports, metrics, and other HR-related analytics as requested.
• Represent Human Resources at resort meetings, events, and associate functions.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel and business matters.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
