Job Description

  • Analyze customer technical specifications and clarify expected system performance.
  • Define the overall rolling stock architecture to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Specify, design, and oversee the development of train subsystems including traction drives, auxiliaries, bogies, braking systems, batteries, doors, HVAC, and auxiliary converters.
  • Coordinate and manage design activities with internal teams, external suppliers, and across engineering domains (mechanical, electrical, control-command, validation, etc.).
  • Define and specify subsystem functionalities, ensuring proper interface with the full train architecture.
  • Consider RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety), EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), and safety aspects throughout the design and development phases.
  • Participate in test definition and validation using simulation tools, test benches, and static/dynamic train tests on test rings or customer tracks.
  • Ensure subsystem validation and certification, contribute to issue resolution, and make technical adjustments as needed.
  • Support project teams with technical expertise and interface directly with customers as required.
  • Contribute to R&D efforts on new energy solutions like fuel cells and onboard energy storage, emphasizing energy efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in railway or automotive industries.
  • Incose certification is required.
  • Rolling stock background is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to define full product interfaces.
