Cambridge International Systems, Inc. offers a full-time remote Electronic Security System Design Engineer position with travel opportunities to Italy, Japan, and Bahrain. Candidates must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.
This role may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS)/Service Contract Act (SCA).
Role Responsibilities
- Participate in site surveys to gather data for design and installation efforts.
- Support the design of electronic security systems from concept to final product based on customer requirements.
- Generate material lists for design efforts.
- Participate in periodic design reviews as required by the customer or contract.
- Perform PITCO activities (Pre-Installation, Testing, and Check Out) at our engineering facility.
- Leverage manufacturer literature and technical support during solution development.
- Utilize controlled documentation, government standards, application guides, and industry best practices for design and installation.
- Assist with scope definition, specifications, and budget proposals for ESS efforts.
- Perform physical installation activities, including working in unusual locations and outdoors.
Required Qualifications
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
- Knowledge or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, Software House, FLIR, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis.
- Knowledge or certification with operating systems used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems.
- Experience in installation, testing, and troubleshooting security system components and hardware.
- Ability to manage multiple workloads effectively, adapt to changes, and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret project ICD drawings and electrical schematics.
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience deploying and testing Physical Security Systems.
- 5+ years’ experience in security systems installation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Possession of a DoD Secret security clearance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency with relevant technologies and tools.
Travel Requirements
- Up to 70% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Locations include Italy, Japan, and Bahrain.
- Active passport required for OCONUS travel.
Physical Environment and Working Conditions
- Compliance with vaccination requirements for OCONUS travel.
- Work primarily in an office environment, sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May involve short travel to different sites.
