Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time remote Electronic Security System Design Engineer opportunity available, with potential travel to locations such as Italy, Japan, and Bahrain. Qualified candidates must possess a current DoD Secret security clearance.

This position may be subject to the Service Contract Labor Standards Act (SCLS)/Service Contract Act (SCA).

Role Responsibilities

1. Participate in site surveys and data gathering to obtain site-specific information necessary for design and installation efforts.
2. Support the design of electronic security systems and subsystems from initial concept to final product based on customer requirements.
3. Generate material lists for design efforts.
4. Participate in periodic design reviews as dictated by customer/contract requirements.
5. Perform PITCO activities (Pre-Installation, Testing, and Checkout) at our engineering facility.
6. Leverage manufacturer literature and technical support during solution development.
7. Utilize controlled documentation, government standards, application guides, and industry best practices to support design and installation.
8. Assist with scope definition, specifications, and budget proposals for ESS efforts.
9. Perform physical installation activities, including working outdoors and in unusual locations.

Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible for and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
• Working knowledge and/or certification with electronic security manufacturers such as Lenel, AMAG, Software House, FLIR, Hirsch, MDI, Bosch, Pelco, Genetec, HID, and Axis.
• Knowledge and/or certification with operating systems used for ACS, IDS, and CCTV systems.
• Experience in installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic security components and hardware.
• Ability to manage multiple workloads effectively, adapt to changes, and prioritize tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret project ICD drawings and electrical schematics.

Desired Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying and testing Physical Security Systems.
• Over 5 years’ experience in security systems installation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possess a DoD Secret security clearance.
• HS diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in relevant technologies and tools.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 70% travel, both CONUS and OCONUS.
• Locations include Italy, Japan, and Bahrain.
• Active passport required for OCONUS travel.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions

• Compliance with TDY/OCONUS vaccination requirements.
• Work primarily in an office setting; physically comfortable environment.
• May require travel to various sites.
