Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, Alabama seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to translate engineering intent into hardware ready for test and flight, develop new component manufacturing processes, and drive quality, cost reductions, and schedule improvements across turbomachinery and valve hardware.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering, 3+ years of relevant experience, and hands-on experience with machining, casting, welding, testing, and DFMA/PFMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of applicable experience.
• Engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Direct experience manufacturing hardware (castings, forgings, AM components, welding, machining, cleaning, NDT, tight tolerance assembly, leak testing, final acceptance testing).
• Experience developing/starting new manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop new component manufacturing processes.
• Drive and enhance component machining and assembly processes.
• Translate engineering intent into fully functional hardware for test and flight.
• Define preparation for components for test, qualification, and flight.
• Lead manufacturing sequencing and support schedule development.
• Perform engineering drawing review and approve manufacturing.
