Job summary

DoorDash Labs, a robotics-focused team within DoorDash, is hiring a Software Integration Engineer for its Platform Integration team. You will work across OS, firmware, networking, and software to ensure robotics systems operate as a cohesive unit.

The role blends hardware and software tasks, with hybrid work in-office and remote. Expect collaboration with electrical, hardware, firmware, and autonomy engineers to enable sensor and software integration, testing, and provisioning tools.

Qualifications

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or other complex mechatronics systems.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 or other robotics middleware is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python and C++ for reliable, performant code.
• Grokking large codebases and understanding OS concepts, performance, and networking.
• Experience with source control and build automation tools like Git, Jenkins, Buildkite, etc.
• Bonus: ability to communicate across software, controls, and hardware teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level debug when issues cross subsystem boundaries.
• Support early integration of new sensor and software component designs by identifying interfaces and risks.
• Design and maintain integration tests, test setups, and procedures.
• Build, maintain, and run mission-readiness checks for various robot platforms.
• Create tools and guidance for Manufacturing Integration, Validation, Field Service, and Fleet Operations.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to ensure cohesive system operation.
