Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to join the busy Perioperative Surgical team. You will work with surgeons using Da Vinci Xi, dv5, and Mako robotics, supporting a wide range of procedures and advanced technologies.

The role offers weekday daytime hours with flexible scheduling, opportunities for 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts, and potential weekend or days-off work to supplement income.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or an MSN with RNFA training.
• Licensed and actively registered as a NY State Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• HIPAA compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during a wide range of surgical procedures, including robotic assistance in multiple specialties.
• Perform first-assist and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient patient care.
• Participate in a collaborative learning environment with mentorship across specialties.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative best practices.
• Document patient encounters, operative notes, and clinical findings accurately.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs within the surgical department.
• Support a culture of teamwork and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.
