Job summary

Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join the Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services perioperative team. You will work with surgeons and staff, gaining hands-on exposure to Da Vinci Xi, dv5, and Mako robotics.

The role offers flexible scheduling, including four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts, weekday daytime hours, with options for additional weekend shifts. AMC supports ongoing professional development in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program or an approved NP program with RNFA training.
• Current NY State PA or NP licensure/registration in good standing.
• Ability to master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• ACLS/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients.
• Assist surgeons during robotic-assisted and general procedures across multiple specialties.
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room.
• Collaborate with perioperative nurses and surgical teams to ensure safe, efficient care.
• Engage in a collaborative learning environment with mentorship across specialties.
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative practices.
• Document encounters, operative notes, and findings accurately per standards.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
