Job summary

Albany Medical Center's Orthopedic and Robotic Surgical Services seeks a full-time Physician Assistant to join the busy Perioperative Surgical team. You will work with surgeons on robotic technologies (Davinchi Xi, dv5, Mako) and assist a broad range of surgical specialties.

The role offers daytime hours, potential for 4x10-hour shifts or 5x8-hour shifts, and opportunities to supplement income with additional weekend or off days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant degree program or
• Master's Degree from an accredited NP program with RNFA training
• Licensed and actively registered as a Physician Assistant or NP in New York State
• Able to master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
• HIPAA compliance at all times
• ACLS/BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive perioperative care for surgical patients
• Assist surgeons during procedures, including robotic-assisted surgeries across specialties
• Perform first- and second-assist duties in the operating room
• Collaborate with perioperative nursing staff and surgical teams for safe, efficient care
• Participate in a collaborative learning environment with mentorship across specialties
• Maintain proficiency in evolving surgical techniques and perioperative best practices
• Document encounters, operative notes, and findings accurately
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
• Support teamwork and continuous learning in a fast-paced surgical environment
