Job summary

1X is building humanoid robots designed to work in home environments, transforming how people spend their time. The Manufacturing & Production team converts engineering designs into scalable, repeatable production processes across machining, assembly, and automation, ensuring high-quality components and assemblies at scale.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will own critical robotic components through prototype to production, developing robust machining, inspection, and validation workflows while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
• Experience with CAM programming, fixture design, tooling development, and precision machining processes
• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and production process development
• Experience integrating electromechanical assemblies into production environments
• Familiarity with GD&T, tolerance stack analysis, CMM inspection, and precision measurement techniques
• Experience collaborating with design engineering, quality, production, and supply chain organizations
• Proficiency with CAD tools, PLM systems, ERP systems, and manufacturing documentation workflows

Responsibilities

• Build the manufacturing systems that enable humanoid robots to scale
• Own manufacturing processes for critical robotic components from prototype through production
• Develop robust machining, assembly, inspection, and validation processes
• Improve quality, throughput, and repeatability while enabling rapid product iteration
• Support NPI programs from prototype builds through production ramp
• Establish and maintain process controls, quality metrics, and documentation for repeatable production
