Job summary

Humanoid in Massachusetts seeks a Senior NPI Mechanical Engineer to establish mechanical NPI practices from concept to production readiness. You will drive manufacturability, quality, and supplier relationships across design, quality, and supply chain teams.

This is a hands-on role shaping scalable processes in a robotics-focused environment. You will lead cross-functional initiatives to define gate processes, improve yield, and support transition from prototype to high-volume manufacturing,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10+ years in mechanical engineering with NPI experience and early-stage/scaled hardware.
Experience taking products from concept to mass production, ideally in robotics or electromechanical systems.
Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA/DFT, GD&T, and common manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical NPI activities across the product lifecycle from concept to sustained production.
Review designs with design engineering for manufacturability, assembly, and testability (DFM/DFA/DFT).
Define and implement gate processes (EVT/DVT/PVT) and own mechanical deliverables at each gate.
Coordinate with electrical, industrial design, quality, supply chain, and program management to keep programs on schedule and within budget.
Evaluate and select manufacturing processes and tooling suitable for current and future volumes.
Lead defect triage, track quality metrics, and establish CAPA programs across the NPI lifecycle.
Manage supplier sourcing, qualification, onboarding, audits, and ongoing performance.
