Job summary

Symbotic is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician to repair and calibrate its automated systems, including Automated Adapters, Lifts, and robotic vehicles. You will become the system expert for mechanical, PLC, electrical subsystems and ensure ongoing uptime through repairs and documentation in CMMS.

You will inspect, calibrate and repair components, troubleshoot anomalies, and work safely on a dynamic construction-site-like environment, often at height or in tight spaces, following 5S

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems or equivalent training.
• Strong electro-mechanical skills.
• Ability to work independently following procedures and manuals.
• Multi-tasking across multiple functions with a high sense of urgency.
• Commitment to safety and reliable attendance.
• Proficient in performing inspections and producing quality work.
• Proficient in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety commitments and OSHA compliance daily.
• Inspect systems of Automated Storage and Retrieval System and adapters/lifts.
• Calibrate, repair, replace or modify system components to maintain operations.
• Monitor flow of AS/RS via adapters to maximize throughput.
• Troubleshoot automated robotic vehicle anomalies with diagrams and test equipment.
• PLC knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Document all actions and repairs in CMMS.
• Communicate production-impacting issues and estimated repair times.
• Operate automated systems and adapt to changing business needs.
• Assist with Cell Operator tasks as needed.
