Job summary

Symbotic is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician in Manchester, PA to repair and calibrate automated systems, including Automated Adapters, Vertical Lifts, and robotic vehicles. You will become the system expert across mechanical, PLC, electrical subsystems and oversee maintenance and uptime.

The role sits in Customer Operations, focusing on safety, quality and system performance while coordinating with onsite customers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in electronics, automation, manufacturing or equivalent field preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with mechanical automation systems or educational/training equivalent.
• Strong electro-mechanical skills and safety awareness.
• Ability to follow procedures and multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in English with clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety commitments per OSHA, Symbotic, and customer procedures.
• Inspect systems related to Automated Storage and Retrieval System.
• Adjust, calibrate, repair or replace system components.
• Monitor flow of the AS/RS through adapters to maximize throughput.
• Troubleshoot robotic vehicles using diagrams and test equipment.
• PLC troubleshooting and electro-mechanical diagnostics.
• Document actions and repairs in CMMS with parts and labor.
• Communicate production-impacting issues and estimated repair times.
• Operate automated systems and adapt to changing business needs.
• Cleanup and removal of replaced parts; support 5S.
• Perform Cell Operator functions as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.
