Job summary

Symbotic in Joliet, IL is seeking a Maintenance Technician at all levels to repair, calibrate and maintain our automated storage and retrieval systems, adapters, lifts and robotic vehicles. You will become the system expert across mechanical, PLC, electrical and electronic subsystems.

Join a hands-on team in a dynamic environment; responsibilities include inspections, continuous operation, troubleshooting, CMMS documentation, and collaboration with the Customer Operations group to ensure safety

Qualifications

• Associated degree or certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with mechanical automation systems.
• Manage and lead advanced troubleshooting via electro-mechanical diagrams.
• Must be able to operate and run automated systems.
• Experience with PLC knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and ability to follow electro-mechanical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on systems of Automated Storage and Retrieval System and adapters/ lifts.
• Lead continuous operation by adjusting, calibrating, repairing, replacing or modifying system components.
• Monitor the flow of the system through adapters to maximize throughput.
• Troubleshoot automated robotic vehicle anomalies and stoppages using diagrams and test equipment.
• Document repairs in CMMS with parts used and labor; ensure safety and quality.
• Communicate production-impacting problems and estimated repair times to the team.
• Wear PPE and work in a dynamic environment; adhere to safety protocols.
• Perform Cell Operator functions as needed.
