Job summary

Actalent in Austin, TX is seeking a hands-on Functional Safety Engineer to lead system-level safety for robotic construction systems. You will drive hazard analysis, safety requirements, and certification readiness across mechanical, electrical, controls and software teams.

You'll develop safety features using sensors and computer vision, implement risk-reduction measures, and coordinate with external labs for NRTL/UL certifications and ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508 and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Hands-on functional safety experience in robotics or complex electromechanical systems.
• Knowledge of hazard analysis, risk assessments, and system safety documentation.
• Experience applying ISO 13849, IEC 62061, IEC 61508, and OSHA safety standards.
