Job summary

Agile Robots is seeking a technically skilled Robot Service & Support Engineer to serve as the primary technical lead for customer deployments, installing, commissioning, diagnosing, and resolving complex issues with our robotic systems in real-world environments. You will work closely with R&D and customers to ensure robots operate reliably in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related technical field.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering principles, control systems, and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, or PLC logic).
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and resolve issues in complex electromechanical systems.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites regionally and throughout the U.S. for hands-on service, training, installations and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of robot kinematics, electrical control systems, and proprietary software to serve as a subject matter expert on the design, integration, and performance of our robotic systems.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for customer issues, analyzing complex mechanical, electrical, and software problems, determining corrective actions, and engaging R&D on issues requiring design changes.
• Plan and lead on-site and in-house service engagements, determining repair strategies and performing component-level replacements as needed. Develop preventative maintenance programs to improve hardware longevity.
• Apply engineering analysis to schematics, test data, and diagnostic logs to determine root causes and recommend design or process improvements.
• Author lessons learned reports and technical service notes; develop knowledge-base content based on field issues.
• Partner with Manufacturing and R&D to feed field findings into product improvements and represent customer perspective across the product lifecycle.
• Define service kit and spare-parts requirements for the region and ensure diagnostic equipment remains calibrated to support rapid deployment.
