Job summary

Amazon RIVR seeks a Tier 2 escalation engineer to interface with Amazon last-mile teams, resolving complex system issues and guiding field robot deployments. You will perform deep-dive root cause analyses and implement quick fixes to sustain a 1:5 engineer-to-robot ratio.

You will partner with QA to shape realistic test cases, document procedures, and serve as the bridge to Product and Engineering for field-driven requirements. Strong robotics and software skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience programming in Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• 2+ years robotics system components and controls experience.
• BA in Engineering (Robotics, Mechanical, Electrical), Computer Science, or related field.
• Proven experience with ROS2 and robotics frameworks.
• Troubleshooting real robot hardware and complex electromechanical systems.
• Navigate complex codebases and robot logs for diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Tier 2 technical escalation point for field operations interfacing with last-mile teams.
• Perform deep-dive Root Cause Analysis on field failures to identify hardware, software, or environmental factors.
• Execute debugging and quick fixes to maintain engineer-to-robot ratio.
• Collaborate with QA to design full-system test cases and capture field edge cases.
• Lead operational readiness and optimization of deployed robots across sites.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs for Field Technicians.
• Translate field issues and RCA insights into structured product requirements.
