Job summary

Rex.zone is seeking a mid-senior robotics software engineer to advance production-grade perception, localization (SLAM), planning, and control. You will build ROS/ROS2 modules, integrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU), validate autonomy in Gazebo/Isaac Sim, and deploy to hardware with robust logging and safety checks.

Responsibilities include designing modules for perception, SLAM, planning, and control; sim-to-real validation; and CI/CD quality gates.

Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics systems in production or advanced prototypes.
  • Strong Python and C++ skills; hands-on ROS/ROS2 (topics, services, actions, tf2, lifecycle nodes)
  • Understanding of kinematics, dynamics, and feedback control (e.g., PID/MPC)
  • Knowledge of SLAM/localization concepts and practical debugging across HW/SW boundaries
  • Experience with Linux, Git, Docker, and reproducible builds

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robotics software modules for perception, SLAM, planning, and control
  • Integrate sensors and compute hardware; develop state estimation and sensor fusion pipelines
  • Create simulation scenarios and perform sim-to-real validation
  • Build automated tests, regression suites, and performance benchmarks; maintain CI/CD quality gates
  • Optimize runtime performance on Linux/embedded compute; debug using logs and bag files
  • Contribute to safety practices, failure analysis, and fleet/field issue support
  • Document interfaces, calibration steps, and operational runbooks
