Job summary

Amazon Robotics AR Tech Deployment is seeking a Systems Engineer II to lead end-to-end deployment of industrial automation across North America. The role requires travel up to 75% and relocation to major hubs as needed; you will coordinate with hardware engineering, product teams, and site operations to ensure safe, on-time go-lives.

You will build deployment documents, drive continuous improvements, mentor junior engineers, and influence cross-functional stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years troubleshooting robotics systems or complex electro-mechanical or networked systems.
• 5+ years project management experience in deployment, retrofits, or maintenance of large-scale robotics.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and network infrastructure.
• Ability to travel domestically 75% or more.

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical deployment of large-scale industrial automation technologies across sites.
• Own on-site deployment execution to meet go-live dates.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, TPMs, PMs and internal customers to refine deployment documents.
• Improve operational metrics through automation and process optimization.
• Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment with trade-offs between time, quality, and resources.
• Create and improve standard work documents and operational guidebooks.
• Influence internal and partner teams toward meeting goals.
• Develop subject matter expertise in one deployment domain and mentor junior engineers.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results.
• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds; stand and walk long hours in variable environments.
