Job summary

Amazon Robotics (AR) TD is seeking a Systems Engineer to oversee end-to-end deployment of industrial automation across North America stores. The role involves planning, installation, and go-live execution of complex electro-mechanical systems, PLCs/SCADA, and network infrastructure with 75%+ travel.

You will work with cross-functional teams, lead on-site deployments, and drive operational excellence while mentoring junior engineers and delivering measurable results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience.
• 5+ years experience in troubleshooting robotics systems or other complex mechanical-electrical or networked systems to resolve escalations.
• 5+ years experience in project management related to deployment, retrofits or technical maintenance of large-scale industrial robotics.
• 5+ years experience with project management and supply management tools (BOMs, deployment work instructions, project tasks).
• Experience reading CAD models for deployment, maintenance, or support of large-scale robotics.

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical deployment of large scale industrial automation technologies from alpha/beta to GA.
• Own on-site coordination of installation and acceptance testing to hit go-live dates.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, PMs, product managers, and site teams to convert requirements into deployment documents.
• Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation.
• Resolve difficult technical problems during deployment with time/quality/resource trade-offs.
• Create and improve standard work documents and SOPs for deployment.
• Influence internal and partner teams to meet goals.
• Develop subject matter expertise in deployment domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments.
