Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Systems Engineer for the AR TD team to oversee planning, installation, and launch of industrial automation across North America. This on-site role travels up to 75% and requires leading on-site project management from planning through go-live, coordinating with multiple internal teams to ensure safe, high-quality deployments across fulfillment centers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of site reliability engineering, systems engineering, DevOps, or related experience.
• 5+ years of Linux experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage tactical deployment of large-scale industrial automation technologies.
• Own on-site coordination of installation and acceptance testing to hit go-live dates.
• Collaborate with hardware engineering, PMs, product managers, and internal customers to convert requirements into deployment documents.
• Improve operational metrics and team processes through automation and optimization.
• Independently resolve difficult technical problems during deployment, balancing time, quality, and resources.
• Create and improve standard work documents and operational guides; pursue automation of processes.
• Influence internal and partner teams to meet goals at the team level.
• Develop subject matter expertise in deployment domains.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical assessments.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives with measurable results.
