Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking an Automation Technician for our Champaign facility. The role supports production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing automated systems throughout the warehouse. Normal hours are 40/week with overtime as required.

The position emphasizes advanced maintenance of robotic, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems, with mentoring duties and strong safety/compliance expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, ideally in a logistics warehouse, or industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting & repair skills in industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on robotic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, and automated systems.
• Install, calibrate, and repair complex equipment, such as conveyor systems, automated machinery, and control systems.
• Lead and coordinate preventive maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and systems operate optimally and reduce downtime.
• Conduct system inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Mentor Maintenance Team Members and assist in maintenance projects.
