Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Champaign, IL is seeking an Automation Technician for the 2nd shift to maintain and troubleshoot advanced automated systems and robotics in a warehouse environment.

The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance, mentoring team members, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Strong mechanical/electrical skills and experience with building automation are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years of facilities maintenance experience in a logistics warehouse or industrial setting.
• Strong technical skills for troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
• Experience with building automation and control systems.
• Proficient with hand and power tools and diagnostic instruments.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on automated systems and equipment.
• Lead preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Mentor maintenance team members and collaborate with contractors.
• Document all maintenance activities in E-Maintenance; track parts and time spent.
