Job summary
STV Incorporated in Raleigh, NC is seeking Utility Inspectors to support highway and bridge construction projects within our Transportation division. The role focuses on utility relocation verification, safety, and field leadership while contributing to statewide projects and client relationships.
Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of utility installation/inspection experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and travel to project sites.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with utility installation/inspection or construction inspection.
- Must fulfill essential job functions in a safe, alert state.
Responsibilities
- Perform utility relocation verification activities on highway and bridge construction projects.
- Apply safety philosophy and work safely in outdoor environments.
- Monitor contractor compliance with relocation plans and schedules.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and document completed work.
- Read and interpret utility relocation plans, roadway plans, UC plans, and cross sections.
- Track changes in the field via redlining plans.
- Communicate effectively with project staff and clients, verbally and in writing.
- Daily travel to project sites; night/weekend work as required; valid NC driver’s license and ability to lift 50 pounds.
