Job summary

STV, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking Construction Inspectors for our Transportation division to support current staff and help grow our CEI practice across the state.

Candidates will travel daily to project sites, read plans, monitor contractor compliance, perform on-site testing, document inspections, and communicate with staff and clients. A valid driver's license and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Applicant must possess a minimum of 2 years of construction inspection experience.
• Must hold a valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, traverse rough terrain, and work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Apply safety philosophy to all job tasks and work safely in outdoor environments.
• Monitor contractor compliance with plans and specifications.
• Establish engineering controls and inspect work.
• Prepare daily inspection reports.
• Perform on-site material testing and sampling.
• Measure and document completed work.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Communicate with project staff and clients, verbally and in writing.
• Operate basic computer/tablet devices (iPad).
