Job summary

RailPros seeks a Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to provide on-site protection around live railroad tracks and coordinate work across multiple sites. This role demands extensive travel, strong safety discipline, and clear communication with train dispatchers and crews.

You will lead daily briefings, submit electronic forms, and uphold RailPros safety standards while ensuring compliance with regulations. GED or high school diploma is required, with 10+ years of RWIC experience with BNSF or 15+

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 10 years RWIC experience with BNSF or 15+ years with Class I/II freight.
  • Pre-employment, background checks, and drug/alcohol testing required; onboarding and recurring training mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site RWIC protection per rules; coordinate with dispatchers and train crews.
  • Conduct daily job briefings for all personnel.
  • Prepare electronic forms and reports (job setup, daily work reports, invoices).
  • Place signs, derail and other tools weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
  • Participate in routine safety classes and qualification training; maintain communication with RWIC supervisors.
