Job summary

RailPros is seeking an experienced Roadway Worker in Charge (RWIC) to provide on-site protection for activities on and around live railroad tracks. You will coordinate job sites, handle dispatcher/train communication, and ensure compliance with On-Track Safety rules.

The role requires 10+ years as RWIC with a Class I/II freight carrier or 15+ years in similar service, with extensive travel across multiple states and a strong safety training background.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of RWIC experience with BNSF or 15+ years with a Class I/II freight employer.
• Must be able to travel extensively across multiple states as required by project schedules.
• Proficient in radio procedures and daily job briefings with all roadway workers.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site roadway worker protection and coordination for live railroad tracks.
• Maintain clear radio communication with train dispatchers and engineers.
• Perform daily job briefings and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Prepare and submit electronic forms for each assignment and related reports.
• Place signs, derail, and manage equipment weighing 15–90 pounds as needed.
• Participate in ongoing safety classes and required training.
• Communicate with RWIC supervisors about schedules and assignments.
